Conrado Freitas Paulo Da Costa finished his PhD at IMPA (Rio de Janeiro - Brasil) in March 2016, under the supervision of Prof.dr. Milton Jara. Since September 2016, he is a postdoc researcher at Leiden University under the supervision of Dr. Luca Avena. Since September 2018 Conrado is joining the Networks consortium within the Leiden group headed by Prof.dr. Frank den Hollander.
In his PhD Conrado worked with fluid limits of Interacting Particle Systems on Networks modelling a family of Reaction-Diffusion equations. These equations describe local interacting random units that are subject to creation, annihilation and a network related diffusion. This is useful in many areas of science, such as population dynamics, morphogenesis, chemical reactions and flame propagation. His interest is to explore, for this family of models, more general (possibly random or dynamic) network landscapes and how they affect the dynamics.
