Each NETWORKS PhD student is expected to do an internship. The internship is a small research project, which can either be done in a NETWORKS research group from a different area than the student’s own research or it can be an applied project in industry. The ultimate goal is that the internship will lead to a publication.
Internships are 2–3 months, during which the student spends at least three days per week in the host group. They are typically done in the second or third year of the PhD. Students should have decided on their internship within the first two years.
