PhD programme

The training programme for NETWORKS PhD students is comprised of several components, which can broadly be classified into scientific training and personal development. For personal development, NETWORKS PhD students can follow the programme from their host university, which typically contains courses on scientific writing, presentation skills, scientific integrity, and so on. Moreover, at each of the universities and/or through national organizations such as LNMB, courses are offered in a variety of areas within algorithmics and stochastics.  Within NETWORKS we therefore focus on organizing activities that create synergy between algorithmics and stochastics, and on very advanced activities. This principle, and the outcome of the survey that was held among the NETWORKS students and faculty, has lead to a training programme consisting of three types of activities: training weeks and internships.
