Martin Frohn received his PhD in Operations Research from the Université Catholique de Louvain in October 2021 under the supervision of Daniele Catanzaro. His PhD thesis focuses on the combinatorial and optimization aspects of certain network design problems in phylogenetics as well as their connections to information theory. Martin joined the NETWORKS program in 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Frits Spieksma. His research interests cover different discrete optimization problems and the interactions between combinatorial and information theory approaches to develop new algorithms to solve them on real-world instances.

This position has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement Grant Agreement No 101034253.
