Suman Chakraborty received hisPh.D. from the Department of Statistics and Operations Research (STOR) at UNC Chapel Hill in May, 2018. His thesis advisors were Shankar Bhamidi and Andrew Nobel. After that he was a postdoctoral assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor from September, 2018 to April, 2020. Broadly, his research interests span discrete probability theory, probabilistic combinatorics, and statistics. He is interested in problems that have originated from various branches of science, such as network science, statistical physics, computer science, and mathematical finance. He tries to develop mathematical techniques to understand and solve some of these problems. His recent works include exponential models on large networks, pseudo-random graphs, and percolation.
