Nandan Malhotra is from New Delhi, India. He completed a dual degree BS-MS program with a major in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali. The work of his Master's thesis was to study degree distributions and subtree sizes for Preferential Attachment Trees with fitness and was supervised by Dr. Neeraja Sahasrabudhe (IISER Mohali) and Dr. Konstantin Avrachenkov (INRIA Sophia Antipolis-Méditerranée). His hobbies are photography, birdwatching, and playing the flute. Nandan is a PhD candidate at Leiden from September 2021.
