Marta received herBSc from Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland and herMSc from the University of Göttingen, Germany. In the meantime, she also did a 6 months exchange at EPFL, Switzerland. During her master degree, she focused on stochastic processes, both theory and applications, and got particularly interested in biological models that can be developed thanks to stochastics, which resulted in writing a master thesis about some random graph models that aim at modelling different biological networks. During her PhD which she will pursue under the joint supervision of Bert Zwart and Remco van der Hofstad, she is hoping to continue research in this area, concentrating on stochastic models for epidemiology.
