Viresh obtained his undergraduate and master's (Part III) degrees in mathematics from the University of Cambridge and received his PhD in mathematics from the London School of Economics in 2009. Since then, he has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Durham, Birmingham University, and Queen Mary University of London and joins the University of Amsterdam as an assistant professor in May 2014.
