Best Paper Award QTNA for Onno Boxma
Onno Boxma recently received the QTNA 2019 best-paper award for the paper entitled "A Single Server Queue with Workload-Dependent Service Speed and Vacations", co-authored with Yutaka Sakuma (who visited us last year) and Tuan Phung-Duc.
The paper presents highly elegant results for a queueing model and optimization problem motivated by the trade-off between processing speed and energy consumption (auto-scaling) in cloud computing and data centers.
