50 participants at first ISI-NETWORKS workshop in Kolkata, India
Together with the Indian Statistical Institute, NETWORKS organised a workshop in Kolkata, which took place 29 January - 2 February 2018. Some 40 researchers from ISI attended, and 10 researchers from NETWORKS. The focus of the workshop was on complex networks, random matrices and interacting stochastic systems.
In 2016 the directors of ISI and NETWORKS signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with the aim to stimulate exchange. Specific targets are joint workshops, exchange of junior staff, extended visits by senior staff, joint mini-courses, and mutual internships.
ISI maintains close ties with research institutes throughout India and NETWORKS does the same in The Netherlands. The collaboration therefore has a broader embedding within the two countries.
