Matteo Sfragara will defend his PhD thesis entitled 'Wireless Random-Access Networks and Spectra of Random Graphs' on October 28th 2020.
Matteo's promotors are Frank den Hollander (Leiden University), Sem Borst (TUe) and Francesca Nardi (University of Florence).
The PhD defense will start at 10.00 hrs in the Academy Building (Rapenburg 73, 2311 SL Leiden). Due to the COVID rules, access is only permitted for a limited audience. The defence will be live streamed on the Leiden University website.
Abstract
This thesis is divided into two parts. In Part I we study metastability properties of queue-based random-access protocols for wireless networks. The network is modeled as a bipartite graph whose edges represent interference constraints. In Part II we study spectra of inhomogeneous Erdős-Rényi random graphs. We focus in particular on the limiting spectral distribution of the adjacency and Laplacian matrices and on the largest eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix.
