PhD Defense David Koops
On February 22nd David Koops will defend his PhD thesis entitled 'Queueing Systems with Nonstandard Input Processes'.
David's promotors are Michel Mandjes and Onno Boxma.
The PhD defense will take place in the Agnietenkapel (Oudezijds Voorburgwal 229 - 231, 1012 EZ Amsterdam) and will start at 14:00 hrs.
David obtained a new position as portfolio manager at NN Investment Partners, where he is responsible for research and implementation of rule-based investment strategies within the factor investing team.
Short abstract
David Koops investigates queueing systems with nonstandard arrival processes. These range from doubly stochastic Poisson processes driven by shot noise and Hawkes processes to nonhomogeneous Possoin processes and Lévy-driven fluid queues. His main focus is the performance evaluation of the corresponding queueing systems.
