‘NETWORKS’ goes to school

On 18 and 23 April a masterclass event on networks and their applications is organized by the NETWORKS program at Leiden University (18 April) and the University of Amsterdam (23 April). This two day event is intended for secondary education students and teachers.

The program consists of lectures, discussions, games, reading sessions and interactive group activities. During the event four enthusiastic speakers will give a short talk on a networks related topic such as social networks, biological and neural networks and chemical reaction networks. The speakers are Clara Stegehuis (PhD at TU/e), Janusz Meylahn (PhD at UL), Birgit Sollie (PhD at the VU) and Jan-Pieter Dorsman (Assistant Professor at the UvA). All speakers are members of the NETWORKS project.

The masterclass event is mainly intended for international school students but anyone who would like to participate, either on both or only on one of the two days, is very welcome. If you are interested please contact Marta Maggioni (m.maggioni@math.leidenuniv.nl) or Nicos Starreveld (n.j.starreveld@uva.nl).

You can find the programme and the speakers’ abstracts below.
